Network connected devices are getting more powerful to support emerging technologies such as connected cars (Telematics), remote medicine (Telemedicine) and other distributed applications. This technology trend is often referred to as Edge, or Edge Computing.

While a centralized cloud data center can be a part of an edge computing architecture, the focus today is on resources distributed across the available network and ways of leveraging them. Recent discussions have focused on container workloads, however serverless, virtual machines, cloudlets and unikernels are all viable options for application deployment and execution. But is there a right way to deliver these services?

This panel will explore and discuss the strengths and weaknesses of these technologies, coupled with an understanding of the technology maturity and market forces involved in the practical application.
