Coming from the need to deliver an identical user experience in radically different environments, the Virtual Network Services (VNS) product uses Cloud/Container components as its underlying platform to create a massively distributed Network as a Service solution.

VNS is a portfolio of network services delivered in a flexible framework on x86 hardware allowing customers to choose the services, network architecture and delivery models best suit their needs. This leads to a radically different approach when to automation, administration, orchestration and integration tools.

Through Verizon’s VNS case study this presentation will describe the challenges of today's service provider. The presenters will highlight projects and activities in the open source ecosystem working towards a common understanding of the problem space and solutions that fulfill the requirements the services demand.
