Cloud-native is an approach to building and running applications that fully exploit the advantages of the cloud computing delivery model. Cloud-native applications/VNFs(Virtual Network Functions ) are purpose-built for the cloud model. Most of VNF in telecom files are running on virtual machines. Vendor is still using the traditional method to design application, they want the platform(OpenStack/Kubernetes) to support many inconceivable requirements. Indeed they don’t have the thought of cloud-native.

In this presentation, we will share the experience how refactoring VM-based application/VNF into container-based Microservice application/VNF. It contains state migration, state decoupling, distributed architecture for state storage and so on. And show what’s the most important challenges when designing stateless application/VNF.
