William Vail
Centre of Excellence in Next Generation Networks Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
Ottawa, Canada Area
Will has worked with CENGN for a year to mature and develop the day 2 operations of the core networking environment. He has focused on several different areas of open source networking, with particular focus on leveraging VNFs for Kubernetes, moderating changes made across the core and edge networking infrastructure at CENGN, developing internal scripts for making fast network configuration changes and leveraging bleeding edge analytic platforms to monitor CENGN’s infrastructure. CENGN is a non-for-profit that works with small and medium-sized businesses, multinationals, the Canadian government and academia by providing a private cloud platform running OpenStack to help create an ecosystem that accelerates the growth of the Canadian Information and Communications Technology sector. In his personal time, he has achieved his CCNA, and is currently pursuing the Cisco Cyber Ops certification on a Cisco scholarship as well as independently pursuing the CCNP certification. Though Will is relatively new to being on the microphone side of technical presentations, his natural charisma and passion for open source networking have proven to make for excellent technical seminars where all attendees can learn and benefit.
